EDUCATION DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Minimum Entry Requirements
A minimum of KCSE Grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent.
In addition, applications will be accepted from candidates who meet any of the following qualification:
1. P1 Certificate.
2. A KNEC Certificate in Early Childhood Education or Ministry of Education Certificate with at least D+ (plus) or its equivalent.
Mode of Study
The Diploma in Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education programme shall normally take two (2) years. The programme will be taken at either of the following modes:
• School Based (6 sessions, with a three-month • teaching practice and a one-month practicum)
• Regular (4 semesters, with a three-month teaching • practice and a one-month practicum; to run concurrently with University programmes)

Diploma in Secondary Education
Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and a C+(Plus) in the two teaching subjects of specialization with at least D+ in Mathematicss and C plain in English

Bachelor of Education Arts
Minimum Entry requirements
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE and a Mean grade of C+ and above in teaching subjects with at least D+ in Mathematics and C plain in English
b)A Diploma holder in Education from a recognized institution
2. Bachelor of Education Science
Minimum Entry Requirements
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE and a Mean grade of C+ and above in teaching subjects, with at least C(Plain) in Maths
b) A Diploma holder in Education from a recognized institution
3.Bachelor of Education(Technology)
Minimum Entry Requirements
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE and a Mean grade of C+ and above in teaching subjects, with at least C(Plain) in Mathematics
b) A Diploma holder in Education from a recognized institution
4. Bachelor of Education(Guiding and Counselling)
Minimum Entry Requirements
I) Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE or its equivalent OR
(ii) A Diploma holder in Education from a recognized institution.
Duration:4 Years
5. Bachelor of Education(Special Needs Education)Secondary option
Entry Requirements
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE or its equivalent OR
b)(ii) A Diploma in Special Needs Education from a recognized institution.
a)A Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
b)Must be a Head or Deputy Head teacher, a Senior Teacher in a primary school or institutions engaged in primary school education; Ministry of Education officials engaged in primary school education;private entrepreneurs in primary school education; NGO officials involved in primary school education or practitioners with at least 5 years teaching experience in primary institutions
6. Bachelor of Education(Early Childhood and Primary Education)
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE or its equivalent with at least D+ in Mathematics and C plain in English OR
b)A Diploma holder in Education
7. Bachelor of Education(Business Studies)
Minimum Entry Requirements
a)Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE or its Equivalent.
b)The candidate must have done Business Studies and scored a C+ and above, in addition the applicant should have passed Mathematics and Geography with the grade of C+ and above.

Entry Requirements
In addition to fulfilling the common University regulations, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
a)Second Class Bachelor’s Degree (Upper Division) in Education recognized by Moi University OR
b)Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Lower Division) with two years teaching experience OR
c)Bachelor’s Degree with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education or an equivalent certificate in Education, all recognized by Moi University.
