Meru University of Science and Technology seeks to admit students to its various academic programmes for Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors and Postgraduate levels. Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the following Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses due to start in September 2019. Download Application Forms online.

Each course will have its own entry requirements, often specifying both the subjects you must already have studied, as well as the grades you will need to have achieved.

PhD in Agriculture

Be a holder of a Master of Science in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Science, Plant Biotechnology, Botany, Forestry and related Sciences from a University recognized by MUST Senate.

Duration: 3 years   Mode of Study: Part-time    Campus: Main Campus (Nchiru)

Total fees is Ksh. 553,000 for the whole course

Undergraduate Programmes

Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management

Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E).Should have a minimum grade of C (plain) in each of the following subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, or 3rd Group II subject, or a Group III subject, or any Group IV or any Group V OR Diploma in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Animal Production, Animal Health, Biology or equivalent and related disciplines from an institution recognized by MUST Senate OR Holder of Degree/Higher National Diploma from an institution recognized by MUST Senate.

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E).Should have a minimum grade of C (plain) in each of the following subjects; Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics/Geography OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics/Geography and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, or 3rd Group II subject, or a Group III subject, or any Group IV or any Group V OR Have a Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biology or equivalent and related disciplines from an institution recognized by MUST Senate.

Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Production

Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E). Should have a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in each of the following subjects; Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Physical Sciences and Mathematics/Physics and C (plain) in English/ Kiswahili.  Two principals and one subsidiary Pass at KACE level or equivalent, one of which must be in Biology and in any other Science Subject OR  A minimum of C (plain) in K.C.S.E. and at least a Credit Pass in Diploma in Animal Health/Agriculture/Medical Laboratory Technology/ Animal Science/Animal Production/Dairy Science/Biology from an institution approved by MUST Senate OR A minimum of C- (minus) in K.C.S.E. with at least a Credit Pass in both Certificate and Diploma in Animal Health/ Agriculture/Medical Laboratory Technology/Animal Science/Animal Production/Dairy Science/Biology from an institution approved by MUST Senate OR A Degree in Science from institutions recognized by MUST Senate.

Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education & Extension

Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E). Should have a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in Agriculture and Biology/Biological Sciences. In addition, they should have a C (plain) in each of the following subjects; Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics/ Geography OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Physical Sciences, Mathematics/Geography and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, or 3rd Group II subject, or a Group III subject, or any Group IV or any Group V OR Have a Diploma in Agricultural Education and Extension or the equivalent having obtained a minimum of C (plain) at K.C.S.E and C (plain) in Agriculture and Biology/Biological Sciences and related disciplines from an institution recognized by MUST Senate.

Bachelor of Science in Horticulture

Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology

Have a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E. and should have a minimum grade of C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics/Physics OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects; Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences/ Mathematics and Geography; and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili or a 3rd Group II, or a Group III, or any of the Group IV, or any Group V subjects.

Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Management

Have a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E. and should have a minimum grade of C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics/Physics OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects; Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences/ Mathematics and Geography; and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili or a 3rd Group II, or a Group III, or any of the Group IV, or any Group V subjects.

Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics

Have a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E. and should have a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in the following subject cluster: Mathematics/Physics, Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Physical Sciences and English/Kiswahili. Candidates holding a Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition and Food Sciences from recognized institutions also qualify for admission.
